Support that meets you where you are

Whether you are seeking therapeutic support, a stronger relationship with your body, or accessible creative resources, My work brings together embodied practice, movement and visual storytelling.

Somatic and creative therapy

Explore therapy that includes the wisdom of your body as well as your thoughts and feelings. Through somatic and creative approaches, I offer a compassionate space to notice patterns, process experiences and develop meaningful tools for everyday life.

Personal training for body confidence

Build practical strength, body awareness and self-worth through personal training that honours your individual starting point. Sessions focus on feeling more connected, capable and supported in your body, not on unrealistic ideals.

Therapeutic comics and illustrations

Complex therapeutic ideas can become more approachable through images and stories. I aim to create comics and illustrations that communicate emotional wellbeing concepts with clarity, warmth and creativity for therapeutic and educational settings.

Cartooning teen stories

Discover Cartooning Teen Stories, my book published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers (JKP). It uses cartooning and storytelling to help young people explore, express and share the experiences that matter to them.

“We thoroughly enjoyed (the training) and will get great use out of your tips and ideas. It was a joy listening to you speak and I feel reinvigorated after it.”

What is somatic therapy?

Somatic therapy is a therapeutic approach that explores the intricate connection between our mind and body. It recognizes that our physical sensations can significantly influence our thoughts and emotional well-being. One effective method within somatic therapy is the Bodynamic approach, which encourages individuals to heighten their awareness of bodily sensations during therapy sessions. Developed by a team of psychologists and body therapists, this method emphasizes how past experiences and traumas manifest in our physical being.

In this approach, therapists guide clients to focus on their physical sensations and movements, enabling them to identify patterns that may have served as defenses during their upbringing.

Ultimately, somatic therapy through the Bodynamic approach offers a unique path to healing. It allows individuals to delve into the connection between their physical and emotional selves. By addressing both body and mind, this therapy seeks to foster a profound sense of overall well-being.

How do you use creativity in therapy?

During my training at the Institute of the Arts in Therapy and Education, I uncovered the transformative power of creativity within the therapeutic process. Creativity goes beyond simple artistic expression; it acts as a potent medium for communication and healing. It empowers individuals to convey their emotions without relying solely on traditional verbal methods.

For instance, drawing and doodling can help clients gain clarity about their thoughts and feelings, paving the way for discussions on difficult subjects. Similarly, sandtray therapy offers a distinctive approach to exploring emotions and experiences by arranging objects in sand, allowing unconscious feelings to surface.
By incorporating these creative techniques into therapy, I aim to assist individuals in achieving a deeper self-awareness and improving their emotional well-being.

In essence, creativity enriches the therapeutic experience, making it more engaging and effective for everyone I work with.

How do you work with neurodiversity?

I’m autistic and have spent the last twenty years working with young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including within alternative education settings. My own journey with autism really shapes how I do things, helping me create spaces where neurodiverse people can be themselves. It’s all about understanding how different minds work for better communication and learning.
